ABOUT ME

JAI Institute Certified Parent Coach

I have always been drawn to helping others and have worked with kids who struggle with both their mental health and academics for over twenty years.

As time passed, I observed children's behaviors continue to escalate and realized I was being called to walk a different path - parent coaching. I wanted to support and teach parents a new way of interacting with their kids to help with emotional regulation and cooperation.

After over seven years of helping parents as a coach, I am now a Professional Counselor Associate, supervised by Sonny Saltalamachia, LPC at HYB Counseling, as well. When I working with parents, I invite them to begin seeing their children's behaviors through an alternate lens, because there is always something deeper than the behavior we are witnessing.

Through supporting and teaching, my goal is to help caretakers understand what the real struggle is for their children. Only then can we find tools to help them meet their needs. I also help parents understand where their big reactions to their children's behaviors stem from and how to move from reactive parenting to intentional parenting.

As well as my professional experience, I am a mom of three daughters, so I. GET. IT. Parenting is wonderful, rewarding, and unbelievably challenging. I also believe it is the most important job we will ever have.

In addition to carrying on our legacy, our children will be the future leaders, caregivers, innovators, and activists of our world. To set our children up to be resilient and responsible citizens, we need to teach them how to show empathy for others, especially those who are different from us, how to solve conflicts respectfully, and most importantly, how to believe in themselves.

Getting curious about what your child's behaviors are trying to tell you, gaining awareness of your own behaviors, trying out new tools that work, and having a supportive neutral party in your corner will empower you to show up as the parent you are striving to be. I know this firsthand, because I use all the tools with my own family too. Asking for help is the courageous first step needed. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
